Särä
One of the seven wonders of Finland is Lemi's särä,
a local pot roast of potatoes and mutton. It is cooked in the särä,
from which the dish gets its name, a sort of long, wooden trough. Lemi's
särä is served to order at the village museum or at the local
restaurant, Säräpirtti Kippurasarvi .
Lemi is well known for its potatoes. It even has
its own local variety, the "Lemi Red" .
